Trapani

It also has a number of protected areas like the Zingaro Natural Reserve and the Trapani and Paceco Saline Natural Reserve.  Selinunte, Erice, the island of Mothia and especially the archaeological area of Segesta, are all suggestive cultural sites not to be missed when visiting Trapani!

Many romantic legends have been said about the birth of the city of Trapani. The curving shape of its busy harbour resembles a sickle (a hand-held agricultural tool with curved blade) lending itself to a great variety of agricultural stories.

This wonderful city is full of history from different periods. The ongoing construction work over the past centuries has continuously modified the city’s landscape. The cute old town centre can easily be visited in a day leaving time to visit other places nearby such as the wine town of Marsala, the Sagesta Temples, the lovely fortress town of Erice or the astonishingly beautiful beaches of San Vito lo Capo.
