Buscemi is a charming village rich in incredible cultural attractions. 

Buscemi is an old and fascinating village with ancient origins dating back to the Bronze age. Like the other villages of this area, Buscemi has been completely destroyed by the 1693 earthquake. Visiting Buscemi it is possible to discover lots of interesting cultural attractions such as:
The Duomo, built in 1769, has a typical Baroque style with its charming facade. It has three naves with a series of Doric columns. One of this nave holds the embalmed body of San Pio, coming from the Catacombe di San Callisto, Rome; the Church of San Giacomo, built with an elliptic plan in Baroque style, today this place is the location of cultural events and exhibitions; the Church of Sant’Antonio da Padova, it is very famous thanks to its spectacular Baroque facade and to preserve the wooden statue of the Addolorata.
Moreover the Church of San Sebastiano, the Santuario della Madonna del Bosco, it holds an amazing paint of this Madonna and according to the legend it was discovered by two deaf-mute brothers, the Church of Carmine, built with a Romanesque style are important monuments you shouldn’t miss.
If you want to find out more information about the history of Buscemi you can visit the Ruins of the Castle of Requisenz, built by Arabs, offers a very breathtaking view and the Museum of the Agricultural work, created to display all the customs and traditions of the XX century.
