Catenanuova

Province of Enna

Catenanuova is a little Baroque village located in the province of Enna. 

The village of Catenanuova was founded between 1727 and 1733 by Prince Andrea Giuseppe Riggio-Statella, who erected his aristocratic building and part of the old town centre in 1736.

The most important monuments of the village are the Church of Maria Santissima Immacolata, built in 1908 and the Church of San Giuseppe, built by Prince Antonio Giuseppe Riggio-Statella after the violent 1693 earthquake.
