Cesarò is a medieval village which is part of the ancient province of Messina.
The village of Cesarò is thought to have been founded in the Middle Ages. Later Roger I d’Altavilla offered the feudal town to the noble Argisgotto di Pozzuoli who ruled until 1333.The most important monuments of the village are the Church of Maria SS Assunta; the Castle of Duca Colonna, built in 1350 and the Palazzo Zito which includes the Museum of Knowledge and Traditions and the People Museum where visitors can discover a collection of typical objects, artefacts and documents which describe the ancient traditions of the village.
