Geraci Siculo is a tiny village with a charming old town centre characterised by many interesting cultural attractions.
The first settlement of Geraci Siculo is dating back to the second part of the 8th century BC, after it was conquered by Arabs in 840 BC and then by Normans. In the 13th century, this amazing tiny village was one of the first feudal town belonging to the noble Sicilian Ventimiglia family. The most important monuments are the Church of Sant’Anna which is part of the Castle of Geraci; the Church of San Giacomo, built in the 14th century with one nave and two large chapels; the Church of Santi Cosima and Damiano, built with a Gothic style; the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore erected in the second half of the 14th century.
In addition, the village includes the Ventimiglia Castle which was built in 1240 with a Gothic- Byzantine style and the Convent of Padri Cappuccini, founded in 1689 by the marques of Geraci including incredible stuccos.

From Catania
Take Autostrada A19 to Palermo, exit Tremonzelli, continue on SS 120 to Castellana Sicula, Petralia Sottana take the crossroads to SS 286 exit Geraci Siculo.
