Pace del Mela is a village located in the charming province of Messina which is rich in history and traditions.
The current village of Pace del Mela was founded in the eighteenth century by a group of farmers who settled the area. According to the tradition, the area was also inhabited by Normans with Roger I and later by Arabs.
The village prospered under the reign of Frederick II when the administration of the village was managed by Perrono Malamorte.
The most important monuments of the village are the Mela Theatre; the Mother Church of Santa Maria della Visitazione, built in 1763, which includes many precious paintings made by unknown artists in the 18th century; the Church of Redentore, erected in the 20th century by Antonio Lo Sciotto; the Parish Church of Santa Maria del Rosario, erected in 1960.
