San Cono is a little charming village which was founded in the late 18th century.
The village of San Cono was founded in 1785 by Ottavio Trigona Bellotti who chose this name to honour an important local Saint. Ottavio Trigona created the old town centre offering the houses and some plot of lands to a group of farmers from the surrounding areas. The most important monuments of the village are the Church of Spirito which displays a Baroque style enriched by a wonderful rose window depicting a white dove which represent the Holy Spirit; the Church of Maria SS delle Grazie, built in 1868, is characterized by a Neoclassical style including precious stuccos and bas reliefs dating back to the 19th century; the Palazzo Trigona which was the summer resort of the aristocratic family.
