San Teodoro

Province of Messina

San Teodoro is a tiny medieval village located in the wonderful Province of Messina.

The village of San Teodoro was founded by Federico III d’Aragona in 1303 who entrusted jurisdiction to Giordano Romano. Later the feudal town was ruled by Diego Brunaccini who contributed to the construction of the old town centre. The little village has a wonderful ancient holy place, the Mother Church of Maria SS. Annunziata, built in 1692, includes a wonderful statue of S. Gaetano made by Filippo Quattrocchi in the 18th century.

Get on Massina – Catania, exit Fiumefreddo. Take SS120 to Piedimonte, exit Randazzo – Cesarò – San Teodoro
