Sferracavallo is a tiny village included in the Isola delle Femmine – Capo Gallo Nature Reserve.
Placed at the foot of the Mount Capo Gallo, Sferracavallo is part of the province of Palermo, close to the Mondello beaches. Founded in the 15th century by a group of fishermen, this small village was called “Calandria”.
Today it is well known for its tasty and traditional fish restaurants located in front of the sea. It is included in the Isola delle Femmine – Capo Gallo Nature Reserve.

The two watchtowers built in the 14th and 15th century. The village has impressive ancient aristocratic buildings such as the Arezzo, Maggiore Amaria and Palazzotto Villas built in the 19th century.
Close to the village it is possible to visit its ancient caves which include impressive Prehistoric findings. The most important caverns are: the Grotta dell’Impiccato, Grotta del Pecoraro, Grotta Conza.
