Province of Caltanissetta

Sommatino is a lovely tiny village which is rich in history and traditions. 

Due to its location, Sommatino was named by the Romans with the Latin word “Summus” which means “high”. The feudal town was later created in the 14th century by the noble family Lo Porto, who ruled until the prince of Trabia acquired the town in the 17th century.  The most important monuments of the village are:

the Mother Church, the Solfate of Trabia Tallarita Museum and the Prince Trabia Palace.

Get on A19 Palermo-Catania, exit Caltanissetta. Take SS640 to Agrigento, exit Sommantino.

From Agrigento

Get on SS640 to Caltanissetta, exit Canicattì Nord and then continue to Delia-Sommantino
