Trappeto includes some amazing beaches such as Ciammarita and San Cataldo.
Trappeto is a famous seaside resort close to the Golfo di Castellamare. It has many beautiful beaches such as the Ciammarita, Castello and the small bay of San Cataldo. The economy of this small village is based on tourism, agriculture and fishing, but also it’s mill for sugar-cane. It has an important Ethno-Anthropological Museum in which you’ll find many objects depicting the history of the village including historic photos, documents and a great library.
This fabulous village has been the location of many famous films such as La moglie più bella by Damiano Damiani, Per quel viaggio in Sicilia by Egidio Termine, I cento passi by Marco Tullio Giordana.
It is also well known for both its Fig Honey, suitable with meat, cheese and fruit, and the Limoncello, a craft liquor made using the tasty local lemons.
If planning a visit to Trappeto it’s important to know that during the summer it provides lots of excursions to Favignana, Scopello, Riserva dello Zingaro and Levanzo.
