Attractions and facilities in the area:

Agrigento is one of the most important tourist destinations of Sicily.  Its Valley of the Temples is the largest archaeological site of the Magna Graecia (the group of ancient Greek cities along the coast of southern Italy).  It has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  In the Valley there’s the old Garden of Kolymbetra, recently recovered by FAI (Italian Environment Fund) and the Archaeological Museum. 500 metres from our villas is the beach of Kaos and the birthplace of Luigi Pirandello, the famous Italian playwright, winner of the Nobel prize for Literature in 1934.

Among the places to visit in town we suggest: the Collegio dei Filippini (College of the Congregation of Saint Philip Neri) nowadays house of the Civic Museum which hosts a collection of the major Sicilian painters of the 19th century; the Biblioteca Lucchesiana (Lucchesiana Library), the church of Santa Maria dei Greci (Saint Mary of the Greeks), the Monastero di Santo Spirito(Monastery of the Holy Spirit), the Arabian district of Ràbato and via Atenea, the main street of the city, full of stores for shopping and bars and restaurants for the nightlife. 8 km away, in the town of Realmonte, is the Scala dei Turchi (Stairway of the Turks), a fantastic pure white cliff between two fine sandy beaches.
