Church of Montevergine

Province of Ragusa

The Church of Montevergine is one of the marvellous cultural attractions you can discover in the Baroque town of Noto.

The Church of Montevergine is located in the charming old town centre of Noto, close to Via Nicolaci. Vincenzo Sinatra designed the church in 1748 with a singular concave façade framed by two bell towers which provide a fascinating perspective of the location. Its interior includes impressive Baroque works of art and a precious altar made with polychrome marbles.

It is possible to visit the bell tower where tourists can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the city of Noto. In recent times the Church of Montevergine has become very popular thanks to it being a frequent filming location for the television series “Il Commissario Montalbano”.

The bell tower visit has an admission fee.

Address: Via Camillo Benso Cavour – Noto
