Falconara Castle

The Falconara castle is characterised by an ancient square tower where the Lords of the castle used to breed falcons.

Considered one of the most important and well preserved examples of Medieval Sicilian Castles, the Falconara Castle was built in the 14th century during the Crusades. The castle is located in a nature park close to the area of Mount Desusino, where it is possible to visit an important Greek historical settlement as well as the Salso river, the second largest in Sicily.

The castle is characterised by an ancient square tower where the Lords of the castle used to breed falcons. Today it is possible to visit the castle and enjoy the breathtaking view of the coastline and the lush Mediterranean vegetation.
