The Favare, an evocative natural place which is an hallmark of the island of Pantelleria.

The Favare are jets of steam that come out from the rocks with a temperature of 100°C. Sometimes they are accompanied by emissions of sulphur dioxide and hydrogen sulphide. Due to these gases and steam, the rocks closest to this amazing location have changed from their original colour to a deep red. During ancient times, farmers used them to provide water for animals and to their fields. Sport and hiking lovers can discover this magical place following a rocky path surrounded by lush vegetation.
