The Marinello Lake Nature Reserve provide a wonderful natural environment
Located at the foot of the Tindari promontory, the Marinello Lake nature reserve is one of the most evocative natural environments of the area.
The formation of the lagoon goes back 100 years ago but the reserve was created in 1998 by the province of Messina.
The green area includes caves like the Grotta di Donna Villa where it’s possible to find marvellous stalactites and stalagmites. An ancient legend says that in this cave there used to live an enchantress called Donna Villa, who attracted sailors with her great songs and then devoured them.
