Island of Rabbits

Pelagie Islands

Closer to North Africa than to Sicily, the Island of Rabbits (Isola dei Conigli) has been identified as another of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is part of Lampedusa and the colours of its pristine clear waters are a marvel to behold, in fact the sea turns from light turquoise to green and to ink blue. The Island of Rabbits is a nature reserve created to preserve the unique Caretta Caretta turtles. This enormous turtle lays almost 100 eggs over the course of May to August, and after sixty days, the little turtles re-emerge from the sand.
Leaving the island’s peace, Lampedusa has a lot more going on, with typical restaurants for eating couscous and fresh seafood, and bars on the beach with all you can need to make your holiday more comfortable.
