San Lorenzo Cathedral

San Lorenzo Cathedral is considered as one of the well preserved example of the Sicilian Baroque in the province. 

San Lorenzo Cathedral was built in 1421 but it has been restored lots of times, after the last rebuilding its facade has been totally redesigned, becoming a well preserved example of Sicilian Baroque. Inside the cathedral it is possible to admire some important historic masterpieces such as the Crucifixion painted by Van Dyck, the painting of San Giorgio made by Andrea Carreca and the statue of the Dead Christ by Giacomo Tartaglia.
