Foce del Fiume Platani Nature Reserve includes the amazing promontory of Capo Bianco where it is possible to visit the ruins of the ancient Heraclea Minoa.
Established in 1984, the Foce del Fiume Platani Nature Reserve is a protected area with the aim of preserving some incredible species of migratory birds, and encouraging the regrowth of the Mediterranean vegetation. The reserve is 206 hectares and includes the amazing promontory of Capo Bianco, here you’ll find the ancient Greek town of Heraclea Minoa.
Due to its natural beauty and wonderful landscape, the beaches of the Mouth of the River Platani and Borgo Bonsignore have been recommended by the Blue Guide of Legambiente.
