Regalbuto is located in the centre of Sicily and it is included in the ancient Roman area known as the “umbilicus Siciliae”. Later Arabs marked this village as an ideal watershed between the Val Demone and Val di Noto. This lovely village is characterized by an incredible silence framed by a prominent vegetation.
Wolfgang Goethe felt great emotions discovering its nature and enchanting landscapes. To ensure the irrigation of the citrus of the province, the Region and State decided to build a dock which is still considered the largest in Europe: Pozzillo Lake. The village has a lovely old town centre where it is possible to discover the Mother Church S. Basilio which was built on the ruins of a Medieval church (16th century); the Church of M.Ss. Della Croce which was built at the end of the 15th century. The interior were completely changed between the 16th and 17th century; the Church M. Ss delle Grazie; the Church of Madonna del Carmelo; the Church of S. Giovanni; Collegio di Maria.

The Carnival is one of the most important festival of the province. Visitors can discover the traditional dancing “Contradanze” .
