Aci Trezza is a popular seaside resort on the east coast of Sicily that is the extension of the beach that runs from Catania to Messina. It’s actually a small fishing village, and has a black volcanic bay made of gravel. It’s characterised by a stunning sea bed and dark cliffs, along with the legendary Faraglioni dei Ciclopi, or the rocks of Cyclops, they sit in front of the beach like huge giants guarding the bay. It is perfect for families and much loved by young people who don’t want overly chaotic evening events. Aci Trezza is also well known as the set of I Malavoglia the famous novel by Giovanni Verga.
