Aragona is a beautiful small village located in the province of Agrigento.
The origins of Aragona are strictly connected to the feudal town of Diesi because the count Baldassarre Naselli founded the village on the ruins of the ancient Diesi village in 1606. The most important monuments of the village are the Mother Church, erected in 13th century by the count Baldassarre Naselli and the Palazzo Principe Naselli, built at the beginning of the 18th century, which is enriched by the amazing frescos made by Borremans. Today, visitors can admire his masterpieces in the main rooms of the building.
Close to the village it is possible to reach the wonderful Macalube di Aragona Nature Reserve.
