Caccamo is located 521 meters above sea level on a rocky outcrop at the foot of Mount San Calogero. Caccamo has a medieval urban layout and one of the most important attractions is its Castle, dominating the village from the top of the hill. It was built as a lookout tower and its interior includes various rooms decorated with floral Baroque motifs dating back to the first half of 1600. Cacciamo also has lots of interesting churches including Duomo di S. Giorgio; Chiesa dell’Annunziata; San Benedetto alla Badia; Chiesa dell’Oratorio; Palazzo del Monte di Pietà ; Chiesa delle anime sante del Purgatorio; Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli.
