Camastra is a little ancient village rich in fascinating cultural attractions.
Camastra is a small village founded by Bernardo Lucchesi in 1620. At the beginning the village was a small farm and then it prospered becoming an extended inhabited centre. The most important monuments of the village are the Church of SS Salvatore; the Castellazzo is a building located on the top of Mount Akragante which includes impressive settlements dating back to the Palaeolithic period and to the 16th century.; the Archaeological area of Mount Castellazzo includes findings from the Prehistoric and Greek periods.
