Founded by Don Giuseppe di Napoli in 1623, Campobello di Mazara has incredible ancient origins dating back to the Phoenician period. This tiny village suffered, as did most of Sicily, during the agrarian crisis of the late nineteenth century and the consequent Great Depression. If interested in visiting the holy places, Campobello di Mazara has the Mother Church, rebuilt in 1825, dedicated to Santa Maria delle Grazie; the Church of Addorlorata and the Church of S.Giovanni.
The Ethnographic museum provides an overview of the cultural history of this village displaying local traditions and interesting findings which describe the customs and crafts of this small village.
Close to Campobello di Mazzara it is possible to visit the Cave of Cusa, a group of old caverns from 600 BC where people extracted limestone to built the village of Selinunte.
