Polizzi Generosa, located in the gorgeous area of the Madonie Park, has ancient and mysterious origins. According to the tradition, this village was considered the ancient Sicilian Athens. The first settlement was created by Byzantine, and then expanded by Normans thanks to the marriage of the baron Ruggero and the baroness Adelasia.
