Sant’Angelo di Brolo is a tiny village located in the fascinating province of Messina.
The village of Sant’Angelo di Brolo was founded in the 11th century by Roger I. Later the feudal town was included in the proprieties of the noble family Abati who ruled the village until the second half of the 18th century. Like most of the nearby towns, it was conquered and inhabited by many civilisations until the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and the unification of Italy with Graribaldi and his Mille. The most important cultural attractions of the village are the Angel Museum; the Church of Santissimo Salvatore, built in 2007, includes the Sacred Art Museum which displays a collections of paintings, sculptures and vestments dating back to the 15th and the 20th century; the Church of San Filippo and Giacomo has precious sculptures and paintings and is considered one of the most beautiful monuments included in the artistic heritage of Sant’Angelo; the Mother Church, built in the 17th century.
