Villafrati is a tiny village well known for its wonderful nature reserve.
Founded in 18th century, Villafrati was a very tiny feudal town with only five hundred villagers. Later the Filangieri family acquired the village erecting the most important buildings of the current old town centre and the village recorded a significant demographic growth. The most important cultural attractions of Villafrati are:
The Baglio is a complex of buildings built by the Filangieri family with impressive decorations and sculptures; The Mystery Door is the main entrance of the Mother Church and it is characterized by impressive bronze decorations; The Church of SS. Trinità was built between the 1750 and the 1765; The Church of the SS. Crocifisso, built in 1745 by the Filangieri family.
Close to the village it is possible to visit the Nature Reserve of Cefalà Diana Chiarastella Villafrati.
