Algilà Arenella Resort is located on the ancient “Mastra Rua “, which since the fourteenth century has been the location for the most important mansions in the city. This elegant building is the result of the fusion of two buildings and a recent renovation. It has preserved the original design structure, helping to create a highly “dynamic” distribution of spaces.
Our thirty rooms are all differently decorated with antique furniture, four-poster beds and refined décor. They all have a typical Sicilian flavour with Mediterranean influences, such as the polychrome of the bathrooms. The charm of the past that we find in the restored furnishings, in no way sacrifices the comforts of today.
The Residenza Alfeo is a typical fisherman’s house of the 1700s, detached from the hotel but part of it, and boasting the same services. We have six splendid apartments with lovely views overlooking the sea and the Gulf of Porto Grande Ortigia, the ancient Greek port. A few steps from the Fountain of Arethusa and the Cathedral, in the most central pedestrian area, is the charming and lively Ortigia.
