It celebrates the deliverance of Palermo from plague in 1624, after the discovery of the relics of the Saint on Mount Pellegrino. U Fistinu, as citizens call the celebration, begins July 10 and continues for five days ending on the beach with the procession of the Saint and her spectacular fireworks.
