The beach of Fondachello is characterised by a stretch of pebbles and dark stones that today make it one of the most important assets to this small village.

Fondachello, was an important place of transit for wanderers and a crucial point of businesses, thanks for this asset its name origins from the Fondaco, a special building common in the seaside towns used as a storage or as accommodation for foreign merchants. Built in the Middle Ages, it was used as a typical trait to denote all the seaside cities as well as the Maritime Republics. Included in the Province of Catania, the beach of Fondachello is characterised by a stretch of pebbles and dark stones that today make it one of the most important assets to this small village. During the summer, the beach and the village have gained new life each year due to a large number of tourists.

Get on A18/E45, exit to Giarre. Take SS114 and Via Carrata/SP66 to Via Spiaggiain Mascali
