Borgetto is a medieval village rich in history and traditions.
Borgetto was founded in 1294 by the baron Simone d’Escolo. Later, in 1360, this tiny village it was ruled by the countess Margherita De Blanco who donated the village to the Minister of San Martino delle Scale to transform it into a huge convent.
The most important monuments of the village are:
The Santurario Maria Santissima Addolorata del Romitiello where it is possible to enjoy a breathtaking view of the village; The Mother Church built in 1762 with a Baroque facade; The Church of Sant’Antonio da Padova, the Church of Madonna di Loreto, the Church of S.Nicolò di Bari, the Church of Provvidenza, the Church of SS.Salvatore dei Padri Passionisti.
