Partinico

Partinico has ancient origins dating back to the Prehistoric period.

Partinico was an important village where Romans spent their spare time relaxing and enjoying the natural environment, after their long journeys. The archaeological digs testifies the presence of impressive luxury Roman villas and summer resorts along this area. Then this area was conquered by Bizantine, Arabs and Normans who described this village as a very fertile and peaceful place where to stay. In the Middle Age the city prospered becoming a fascinating village rich of churches, buildings and shops. Today, Partinico, is an agricultural centre where it is possible to find extended cultivations of grapes, vegetables, fruit, almonds and olives.

The most important monuments are:

The Church of Sacro Cuore, built in 1681; The Mother Church of Santissima Annunziata, built in 1570 with three naves; The Sicilian Puppets museum, created in 2010 to preserve over 100 handmade puppets made by Nino Canino.

The Ethno-Archaeological museum, located in the Public Library, includes impressive findings from the 4^th century BC.
