Palazzolo Acreide is part of the Ibleo District. Many different empires ruled here over the centuries: Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans. After being destroyed by the violent earthquake in 1693, it was completely rebuilt with the name of Palazzolo in 1700. This small town offers an interesting archaeological area where visitors can find a charming Greek Theater, the remains of the Aphrodite Temple and many stone quarries.
