The house to “read and write”
In the nineteenth century the aristocratic Ennese Grimaldi family spent part of their summer here at Villa Grimaldi, today Casa del Poeta. The stone building is a few km from Enna and a few hundred meters from Lake Pergusa, associated to the myth of the Rape of Proserpine. It reflects the architectural style of holiday homes in Sicily: high ceilings, generous rooms, a cellar dug into the rock, surrounded by a lot of green and majestic cypresses. The villa has changed its face, becoming a home for poets, artists and sophisticated travellers. Large common areas are reserved for reading and writing, listening to music, with paintings and chandeliers that inspire poetry and books… books, everywhere, libraries with many books of poetry and literature.
