Overlooking the Sicilian hills, Casa al Belvedere is located in Enna, less than 15 minutes’ walk from Castello di Lombardia, and offers air-conditioned apartments with balconies and free Wi-Fi.
The apartments are decorated in a modern style and boast a living area with a TV, sofa bed and kitchenette as well as a bathroom with hairdryer and washing machine.
Casa Belvedere is 5 km from Enna Train Station and 15 minutes’ drive from the Pergusa Motordrome. 100 meters away you will find a parking lot with special rates.
The square known today as Piazza Francesco Crispi, is referred to as the S. Orsola square in the cadastral map of 1897, since it seems that Sant’Orsola church once stood where Belvedere Hotel stands today.
The church was replaced with a residential building in 1885 and in 1909 the building became the current Hotel Belvedere.
Photos and descriptions of the time reveal how it came to be a hotel. The ground floor was used as a lobby, restaurant, conversation room; on the first floor are the dining halls and a few rooms, while the others were located between the second floor and the first lower ground floor; from the terrace on the first floor one could, and can, enjoy a splendid panorama, which includes the majestic volcano.
In 1926, Enna became provincial capital and as a result, Piazza Crispi underwent changes that joined it with the scenic drive, to provide easier access to the hotel.
The building underwent further modifications, which fortunately did not involve the façade, whose ancient splendour is still admirable. Our hotel ‘Una Casa Al Belvedere’ is located in this historically complex building. It was opened in 2014 with the intention of offering our guests a place that exudes history without forsaking all the modern comforts needed for a perfect stay.
