Seccagrande has become the most charming summer residence of riberesi (citizens of Ribera).

Seccagrande is a small hamlet near Ribera in the province of Agrigento.
Ribera is known as the City of Oranges thanks to its agricultural environment and its organic farms. In fact, recently it has been awarded with the Slow City recognition, due to its healthy and ecological lifestyle.
The village of Seccagrande is considered an amazing old and tiny borough, characterised by a warm and cool weather, especially during the summer months. For this reason it has become the most charming summer residence of riberesi (citizens of Ribera). If you walk along its coast you’ll find lengthy pebble beaches with crystal clear water, where you can even admire the surprising variety of the stones’ shapes and sizes. In this charming area there are many bars and restaurants both on the front and behind the Lungomare. It is considered a great place for families and people who love a dip in wonderful waters.
In addition to the beauty of the coast, there are lots of local habits to discover and enjoy, such as the night of Ferragosto (on 14th August) that is the most famous one. During this night multiple bonfires light up the river, music is played all night long and there are amazing local delicacies to taste.
